Thursday, April 18, 1912. 6:09pm. Cunard Line Pier 54, New York. A modest single-funnel steamer dropped anchor after depositing several wooden lifeboats, and passengers were let off as though nothing was wrong. Tens of thousands gathered at the pierhead waiting for news of what had happened a few days prior. A young woman sat in her darkened stateroom, her eyes fixed on a ray of dull sun peeking through the clouds. Her blood still ran cold from the ocean. The tearing of steel plates still rang in her ears. The cries of hundreds around her, fading unheard into the night, pulled fresh tears from her eyes. If one knew her already, all they would see of her now was a wrecked husk of Britain's poster girl for maritime luxury. Cara tapped on the door, her soft voice cutting through the silence. This is my Enigma Cunard Postcard, cause of what's on the bow of the Berengaria, cause that eagle should not be there as it was on the SS Imperator and was lost in 1914, and the Berengaria didn't become that name until 1919
got these last month, they're reproductions, but they are from a Titanic show, they are metal replicas of the medals given to the captain, officers and crew of the RMS Carpathia for rescuing the Titanic passengers. I bought 1 of each of the medals. I reversed one to show what was on the back, as the real medals had it on the reverse too. Enjoy
I'll try again sending in 2 new postcards, dunno if group is still accepting or not, as ive sent items in, but never find out if accepted or not, so i'll just keep trying. I sent in 2 nice postcards for the HMHS Britannic and the RMS Titanic, i hope they get accepted
